About Pt Chevalier:
Pt Chevalier is very close to the central city and enjoys easy access to motorways in all directions. The area is predominantly flat so it’s really great for walking and biking.Being a peninsular it’s surrounded by water with Pt Chevalier Beach and Coyle Park big attractions. The beach has been re-sanded and is well worth a visit.The Meola reserve is a real asset where you can take the dog for a walk or have a picnic at the end of the reef.
Pt Chevalier caters for all levels of schooling with Pt Chevalier and St Francis Schools very popular plus we have Pasadena Intermediate and Western Springs College in the north east of the suburb and Unitec is located on Carrington Road.
It’s a windsurfer, kiteboarder and boaties paradise, and has it’s own sailing club plus boat ramps at Raymond St and Oliver St. You can catch Snapper near Kauri Point just a few minutes by boat or a bit longer in the kayak.Within a few minutes drive is the ever popular Chamberlain Park 18 hole Public golf course and it’s easy to keep kids happy as Western Springs Park, Auckland Zoo and Motat are adjacent to Pt Chevalier on Great North Rd.
The area was the first in NZ to have the fast broadband rolled out by Telecom - fantastic if you have a business in the area or work from home. Other infrastructure has had major upgrades in recent times with new footpaths installed in 2007 and stormwater and sewers have been separated and upgraded.
Clubs include the Pt Chevalier Tennis and Bowling club, the RSA and we have a twilight market at Seddon Fields on Meola Rd on Thursday evenings.The area has one of the largest retirement villages in NZ, Selwyn Village, so you can even retire here!

Pt Chevalier Shopping:
There’s a variety of shops and services on Great North Rd including Mad Butcher, Bakers Delight, Video Ezy, Fruit and Vege market, Pharmacy, Optician, ASB Bank, Mud Pie Deli, Doctors surgery, Post Shop, Library, and also the supermarket at the back of the Mall. We have a Shell and Mobil petrol station and there is even a McDonalds.
Transport:
Public transport is fantastic with easy access to bus routes and cycle ways. Most bus routes terminate at the end of Pt Chevalier Rd and you can pretty much travel anywhere in the central isthmus quite easily. It's also quick to get to the airport through Mt Albert and will be eve quicker in a few years when SH20 is completed.

Local restaurants include Cafe Latte, D's Seafoofd restaurant and wine bar, Point 59, The Mud Pie Deli, Sages Indian restaurant and there are popular cafes on Pt Chevalier Rd - Cafe Ro at 330 Pt Chev Rd and Point Cafe at the far end by Coyle Park. There are several takeaway bars including Dominos Pizza, Thai and Seafood.
