About Waterview:
With traffic growth and property prices on the rise, the definition of inner city Auckland has spread west over the past five years.
Accompanying the growth of the Unitec campus around the fields of the former Carrington hospital grounds, the corners of Waterview that circle the campus have become increasingly attractive as affordable footholds close to the city.
There is easy access to both the Northwestern motorway and the planned extension of SH20 from the airport.
With its proximity to both Mount Albert and Avondale colleges, the growing cafe scene of Point Chevalier and, of course, Unitec, this is a great neighbourhood for the next generation of families.
Set off the main road, Waterview has no thoroughfare through its streets making it a peaceful and quite suburb.
Sitting on the estuary, many of the houses in Waterview enjoy spectacular water views and westerly sunsets.
Waterview is surrounded by parks and reserves and riddled with playgrounds.
Waterview Shopping:
Waterview has only one dairy and a flower shop. Nearby Mt Albert and Pt Chevalier provide shopping options to local residents. For serious shopping or to catch the latest movie - St Lukes mall is only ten minutes away.
Transport:
Waterview is well served by buses passing on Great North Rd towards Mt Albert or the CBD and west to Avondale and beyond. Alternatively the Avondale train station is only 1.5 kilometers away. Trains east leave regularly going to Mt Albert, Morningside, Kingsland, Mt Eden, Newmarket and the CBD while he trains west pass through New Lynn, Henderson, Sunnyvale, Glen Eden, Ranui, Swanson and Waitakere Train Station.

Although there are no dining out options within Waterview the residents can choose from numerous restaurants and cafes in nearby suburbs. Pt Chevalier will cater for coffee, Italian and fish and chips while Mt Albert has many Asian restaurants, pizza, designer burgers and kebabs.
