About Greenhithe:
Once a sleepy, tucked away and somewhat isolated area, Greenhithe still retains a charming village feel that is endearing to locals and visitors alike. The natural geographic isolation has meant that while surrounding areas may have become crowded with new development, Greenhithe has been spared and more recent changes are being approached with sensitivity to the expansive green areas and local atmosphere.
This picturesque harbour-side suburb boasts parks, sports grounds and harbour-side walks. The pony club, North Shore dog club and Wainoni Park with its lovely walking tracks, all add to the local charm. And even though the new motorway has made Greenhithe easily accessible, it’s location, well out of the way, has allowed it to remain special and a little secluded.
Greenhithe Shopping:
Greenhithe’s local village offers a selection of specialty shops including convenience store, bakery, takeaways, hairdressers, etc. centred around a very active community hall and local tavern. A new development has also added to the mix. Other local businesses include a medical centre, cafes and of course real estate.
Transport:
Greenhithe is well served by bus routes offering easy access to all areas from West Auckland, the rapidly growing Albany area and the Auckland Central Business District.

The local Malthouse tavern is well renowned for its excellent menu including gourmet pizzas cooked in the wood-fired oven which is a central feature of the bar. The village centre also offers the always-inviting ‘Green Bean café & deli’ with lovely outdoor seating.
