About Hauraki:
Located between trendy Takapuna and Belmont, Hauraki enjoys all that is so attractive about the area. Just 5 minutes from State Highway 1, 2 minutes into central Takapuna and 10 minutes to Devonport. Access to all the beeches hugging the coast including Cheltenham, Narrow Neck and Takapuna beach. Access to shopping in Takapuna and Devonport and the restaurants and bars of different styles and culinary delights.
The resort style shopping strip along Hurstmere road in Takapuna provides boutique retail therepy and the Sunday market in the Lake road car park is hugely popular.
The area is well served with excellent primary schools. Takapuna Grammar School offers a good co-ed secondary education.
Recreational pastimes centre around boating, and beaches. Windsurfing and kite surfing are popular in Shoal Bay with views to Auckland central and the Sky Tower. The Aquatic Centre in Takapuna offers a pool and a gym, golf is available in Devonport and at Takpuna Golf Course and the Berkeley Cinema will keep you up to date with the Hollywood scene. Tennis is available at a number of clubs on the penninsula.
Hauraki Shopping:
Apart from the extensive shopping in Takapuna, which includes the Westfield Mall, Hauraki Corner offers a variety of shops including a New World supermarket. You'll be able to pick up your liqour needs from Hauraki Corner Cellars, your medical requirements from the local pharmacy, your meat from the Mad Butcher and pick up a video fro the CIvic Video shop. The Lone Star restaurant graces the corner of Lake and Jutland roads and there is a good local Indian restaurant and Kebab house. Parking is available and there is a Post Shop too. All your DIY requirements are met with a HammerHardWare store.
Transport:
Bus services are excellent with stops along Lake road, in the vicinty of residential Hauraki and Esmonde road.

Takapuna has a fine selection of restaurants and bars including Marvel Grill, Aubergines, the Copper Room, Blanckenberge Belgian Beer Cafe, the Sin Bin, Daikoku, Mint, and The Dining Room restaurant in the Spencer on Byron hotel. Other places to eat out can be enjoyed at GPK, Botticelli, Portofino, Wildfire, Tip Siam, Buffalo Bar & Grill, Palace of India, Goode Brothers, Al Forno, Lee Wha Won, Nandos and Pinot Plus.
