Takapuna Beach is a popular beach where locals and visitors a like flock to picnic and play. On a clear day beach-goers enjoy great views of the volcanic island of Rangitoto and other Hauraki Gulf islands.
Takapuna Beach has good parking, a large boat ramp, toilets and a changing block.
From the attractive reserve and picnic area alongside the beach, it is only a short stroll to cafes, boutique shops and a modern shopping centre. There is also a scenic coastal walkway that runs from Takapuna Beach to Milford Beach.
Takapuna Central Shopping:
Takapuna is one of the North Shores premium shopping destinations. Westfield at Shore City provides a high standard of shopping, as well as the busy Hurstmere Rd strip.
Transport:
Takapuna is one of the main transport interchanges on the lower North Shore and the opening of the new Akoranga Bus Station has increased the flow of the buses to the region.
