About Maungatapu:
A sought after area with varying types of homes for the discerning buyer. Great views from properties on the cliffs/peninsula of Tauranga, the inner harbour, and Mt Maunganui. Maungatapu is a short drive to Tauranga Centre, Mt Maunganui and Papamoa. Self contained, this area boasts a top Primary School, petrol and service station, and a small village with most convenience shops. A Marae and sports ground is situated at the far end of Maungatapu. There are some great reserves, one right on the waters edge, perfect for those who like their water sports.

The shopping complex at Maungatapu consists of a variety of stores including takeaways, café, stationer, florist, superette, hairdresser, bar and pharmacy.
Transport:
The Bay Hopper bus service arrives every hour, and has 11 bus routes to and from the greater Tauranga/Mount/Papamoa area. Buses to the intermediate and colleges are available.

Maungatapu has a cafe and takeaway bar on the peninsular, but it is also only a few minutes drive from the extensive eateries in both Tauranga central, and Mount Maunganui
