About Avonhead:
Avonhead is predominantly an upper middle class suburb on the western side of Christchurch city. It is a quiet suburb, however it is surrounded by main routes in and around Christchurch, with access to the main roads South, North, and also to the West Coast just a short drive away.
Avonhead is also in close proximity to many good schools, both primary and secondary, as well as two of Christchurch's main malls, Westfield Riccarton and Hornby Hub, Riccarton Racecourse, and Christchurch Airport.
Avonhead Shopping:
Avonhead has its own shopping centre housing a pharmacy, bookshop, gift shop, supermarket and other amenities. With its close proximity to Westfield Riccarton and Hornby Hub everything you could want or need is available closeby. There are also many restaurants and cafes in the area.
Transport:
With its close proximity to the main roads in and around Christchurch, as well as the main roads North, South, and West of Christchurch there is plenty of regular public transport into, out of, and around the city. Also with the Airport nearby their are many shuttles, and a taxi fare is only small.
