Coromandel is a beautiful and historic township located 54kms along the Pohutukawa lined coast from Thames and approximately a 2.5 hour drive from Auckland.
Famous in the past for its Kauri logging and goldmining and famous in the present for its historic streetscape, tasty culinery destinations, abundant local artisians and the laid back and diverse individuals who make Coromandel their home.
Coromandel is a superb place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, with activities to please everyone, from fishing in the waters of the Hauraki Gulf to exploring our popular beaches, coastline and islands, or perhaps you would prefer strolling through the many kilometers of historic bush tracks dotted with ancient Kauri and filled with birdlife.
Coromandel has much to offer those looking to settle permanently or those loking for a regular holiday destination.
Coromandel Shopping:
Is well catered for with many art and craft shops selling local wares, two petrol staions, three grocery shops and a dairy covering the essentials. There are also a couple of clothing outlets and the iconic James & Turner hardware store which sells anything from chilly bins to fridge magnets and everything in between.
Eating Out:
There are a number of popular eateries in town including the award winning Peppertree Restaurant, and lets not forget the two Fish n Chip shops!!
