About Flaxmere:
Flaxmere is "family friendly", offering both the advantages of a large town close by, and the comfort of a small, close knit community. In close proximity to both Hastings and Napier, it is also well situated to enjoy the local wineries, cafe's, restaurants, golf courses, rivers, and beaches. Sporting many large, beautiful parks, these are available to be enjoyed by both young and old.
Flaxmere Shopping:
The shopping centre is located in the centre of Flaxmere, offering a fantastic locally owned Chemist, New World, Video Shop, New Zealand Post, Dairy,and two Chinese and fish and chip takeaways. Bordering this is a large BP petrol station and a WINZ office. Modern library, indoor heated swimming pool and skateboard parks are a few of the recreational options available.
Transport:
Bus services are available from Hastings City. Local clubs from Hastings also offer courtesy vans to and from Flaxmere. Taxi services are also available at anytime.
Eating Out:
Dining out is limited, however, there are two great takeaway shops and a floato caravan. Most prefer to dine out with family and friends over a bar-b-que, enjoying the great Hawkes Bay weather, seafood and wine.
