Morrinsville is located 30 minutes East of Hamilton City and within 1 hours drive of the Coromandel and Bay of Plenty beaches.
The local economy is based on the servicing industries for the Primary Sector and includes several dairy factories, meat processing, and chicken processing. Employment is therefore well catered for and a high proportion of home ownership exists within the town.
With a population of approximately 6,500 people, Morrinsville could be considered the typical New Zealand provincial town.
Morrinsville Shopping:
Morrinsville's main street contains several independent retailers of quality merchandise including recent top shop winners for the Waikato Region. The town is also serviced by two supermarkets, a few of the larger appliance chain stores and The Warehouse. The five major banks all have branches in town.
Transport:
A return bus to Hamilton is available daily and runs via Te Aroha / Paeroa to the East. Within town, transport is not really an issue as every facility required is within close proximity. However, several courtesy vans are available for hospitality clients or those who are aged or disabled.
Eating Out:
Several of the local hotels have in-house restaurants and there are also a few independent restaurants. Cafes cater for lunchtime and coffee needs and are strongly supported by local clientele ensures as well as passers by.
