About the Te Pahu Community
About Te Pahu:
In the heart of the Waikato, Te Pahu has an active and interesting community.It is attractively situated at the foot of Mt Pirongia, not far from the nearby metropolis of Hamilton. For a small place there are a lot of very different things going on.
The village has a locally serviced garage and postal centre. The Squash Club sells takeaway food on Friday nights, and the local school has fund raising events on a regular basis.
Te Pahu Shopping:
Pirongia is 10 km south and has several cafes, a bakery, a Mobile Service Station, galleries and craft shops. A 4 Square has recently opened opposite the local pub. Every fourth Sunday the Pirongia Market is held from 8.30 am to 1.00 pm at the local hall. Whatawhata is 13 kms north and has a cafe, garage and local pub.
Eating Out:
The Persimmon Tree Cafe in Pirongia is well worth a visit and serves Rocket Coffee as well as stocks locally made cheeses and small goods.
