Example suburb description:

A predominantly upper-middle class residential suburb, Ponsonby today is also known in Auckland for its dining and shopping establishments - many restaurants, cafes, art galleries, up-market shops and night clubs are located along Ponsonby Road. Previously containing many rundown buildings, and having a somewhat 'colourful' reputation (due to its association with Auckland's arts and gay/lesbian scenes), the suburb has undergone extensive gentrification over the last two decades.

Ponsonby is one of Auckland's main fashion shopping areas with many fashion stores along its Ponsonby Road. Most major banks have branches at Three Lamps and there are two supermarkets within 2 kilometres on Ponsonby Road.
Public Transport

Ponsonby serves several bus routes including the Link which takes people into the CBD, Newmarket and Parnell. The CBD is only a short 20-30 minute walk away and many people walk to work. Taxis are easily found on Ponsonby Road due to its popularity as a shopping and dining destination.
